Ah, a ritual... you might as well be saying hot chocolate and a warm blanket to me.  What comfort.  What predictability.

This month, we're kicking off the season of celebrations and traditions; which are truly routines and rituals at their finest.  Whether you're thinking of morning routines or bedtime routines (or anything in between), kids learn what to expect and take great comfort in routines and rituals.  It teaches them trust.  As mundane and commonplace as routines can be for us, we can celebrate them for what they are:  Warm, fuzzy pillars you  and your children can rely on.

What routines or rituals are you looking forward to this month?  Are you working hard to recreate your favorite memories from childhood, or are you stitching together new ones?  Favorite smells, favorite foods, traditional outings and family get-togethers - all just waiting to be introduced to your little one.  Take time today, the first of December, to prioritize exactly what is important enough for you to spend time doing this month.  Which rituals are worthy of your family's precious time?
